CREATIVITY + FORM + FUNCTION
CREATIVITY + FORM + FUNCTION
Welcome to Mark Sanford Group – providing Architecture services for Commercial, Industrial, Housing projects in Omaha, NE. Mark Sanford has been a registered architect in the State of Nebraska since 1989, and uses a simple approach to the design/build process. This process allows the design, planning, estimating, scheduling and permitting components to be carried out on a parallel path or overlapping timeline. This really helps to save costs and time.
Mark Sanford has been a registered architect in the State of Nebraska since 1989. His involvement in architecture has been since 1972 when he worked in the residential design and construction field while he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Mark is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. Since graduating from Central High School in 1972 he received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from UNL in 1978. During the following five years Mark was involved in the operation of designing residential structures and small commercial projects.
Mr. Sanford joined Dana Larson Roubal and Associates (DLRA) in 1982. As a team member for many projects he has participated from initial design to being a project architect. During the mid 80’s Mark was involved as part of a team for DLRA whose mission was to visit HUD housing in various regions of the country for purposes of compiling information about those housing sites and how they conformed to HUD regulations.
From 1988 through 1998 Mark joined Rambo Associates Project Management (RAPM). After starting as one of the main designers and project managers for the firm he eventually became a principal in the firm during his last eight years with that company. RAPM’s major focus was educational facilities consulting and project management. For more than the six years with DLRA and the ten years with RAPM he was involved in many aspects of the architectural process for many commercial facilities including several operator service centers, mail sorting and credit card processing facilities for First Data Resources (FDR), Cable Services Group (CSG) and Call Interactive.
In August 1998 Mark formed his own company, MARK SANFORD GROUP, L.L.C. (MSG). His main interest is in helping his clients work from abstract to reality to fulfill their visions and needs. The main focus has been tenant finish for various types of offices and retail as well as dentist offices, restaurants, apartment buildings, fitness facilities and shopping plazas. Mr. Sanford was the main architect on a 120,000 square foot rejuvenation of Omaha Jewish Community Campus.
Mark has worked closely with the Omaha Planning Department on many levels. Mr. Sanford’s knowledge of Omaha Municipal Codes and the IBC is paramount to the development of all the projects MARK SANFORD GROUP produces
Once the programming is ascertained and approved the design of the plans can quickly be developed and completed and then put out to several General Contractors (GC) for receiving construction estimates. From those estimates the GC can be selected and they will become an integral team member for determining the best construction methods and materials to be used to complete your project that is the most cost effective. The GC will be responsible for the engineering of the structural, mechanical and electrical systems that will support the intended project.
The design/build method focuses on combining the design, permitting and construction schedules in order to streamline the process and save costs. The process also ensures that the contractors who are performing the work necessary are ultimately responsible for the design and implementation of that work. The client has much greater access to the development team as well.
The three fundamental aspects of any project are time money and quality. All three of those objectives can be achieved by using this “design/build” method.
